STEM Coordinator

Boys & Girls Club of the Pikes Peak Region (BGCPPR) is looking for energetic and passionate STEM Coordinator to run our Center of Innovation working with ages 6-18 within our E.A Tutt location. BGCPPR offers amazing opportunities and programs; BGCPPR needs someone who is just as excited as our organization to change and impact their lives!

Position: STEM Coordinator
Pay Scale: $11.00 per hour
Start Date: August 6th, 2018
Required Hours: 40 hours per week
Duties:

1. Plan, implement, and document successful Boys & Girls Club STEM programs.
2. Ensure all grant requirements are met including, but not limited to, enrollment percentages, community partnerships and evaluation.
3. Report on assigned program outcomes, activities implemented, and success stories in writing to Branch Director in advance for Monthly Site Report.
4. Adhere to policies and procedures in a pro-active manner, making the safety and care of children your primary focus.
5. Maintain and submit all proper record keeping of program attendance, snack counts, and half hour trackers.
6. Responsible for submitting requests for the purchase of supplies and equipment to Branch Director as needed.
7. Ensure that members are encouraged to participate in a variety of program areas/activities and receive instruction and constructive feedback to develop skills in program area(s).
8. Use 3D printers, tablets and other Club technology resources.
9. Participate in BGCA national programs and trainings as necessary or desired.
10. Support marketing efforts with pictures and/or video for special events, social media, Web posts, or other needs as requested.
11. Assist the Teen Coordinator in the recruitment of teens to participate in STEM programming.
12. Develop relationships and coordinate partnership efforts (museums, libraries, corporate, schools, etc.) to develop field trips, volunteer engagement opportunities, curriculum partnerships, etc.
13. Communicate with local school staff, teachers, and counselors about STEM programming.
14. Build a positive relationship with each club member in your care and foster positive connections between participants.
15. Conduct yourself as a professional and representative of the organization with school staff, parents, children and anyone else with whom you come into contact in your role.
16. Maintain and enforce rules and behavioral policies.
17. Inspect and clean, on a daily basis, facility and equipment. Check supplies and be sure all are accounted for and request more supplies if running low.
18. Actively participate in all aspects of staff or member development, weekly team meetings, pre-service training, and an additional 15 hours of training during the school year.
19. Participate in special programs and or events. These events may be scheduled at times when the club is not open.
20. All other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

1. At least 20 years of age
2. Associates or bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline or related field; or exhibit at least two years of continuous experience working and/or volunteering in a STEM-related field.
3. Experience working with youth ages 6-18
4. Must at least be available during business hours of 1:30pm to 8pm on Mondays and 2:30pm to 8pm Tuesday through Friday.
5. Must submit to and pass a drug test (marijuana included) and background check.

PROGRAM LEAD

Position: Program Lead

Pay Scale: $10.50 per hour

Start Date: August 6th, 2018

Required Hours: 20 hours per week

Duties:

1. Plan, implement and document successful Boys & Girls Club programs in the areas of academic success, character and leadership, healthy lifestyle, and art activities with school-aged children.

2. Adhere to policies and procedures in a pro-active manner, making the safety and care of children your primary focus.

3. Build a positive relationship with each club member in your care and foster positive connections between participants.

4. Conduct yourself as a professional and representative of the organization with school staff, parents, children and anyone else with whom you come into contact in your role.

5. Maintain and enforce rules and behavioral policies.

6. Be a contributing member of the team.

7. Inspect and clean, on a daily basis, facility and equipment. Check supplies and be sure all are accounted for and request more supplies if running low.

8. Actively participate in all aspects of staff or member development, weekly team meetings, pre-service training, and an additional 15 hours of training during the school year.

9. Participate in special programs and or events. These events may be scheduled at times when the club is not open.

10. All other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

1) Candidates must be 19 years of age, have a High School Diploma or GED, and have experience with school-age children (6-12 years old).

2) Must have afternoon availability. El Pomar hours: M-F 2pm-6:30pm; Tutt hours: M 1:30p-6:30p, Tue.-Fri 3:15pm-7:30pm.

3) Must be able to pass a drug test (including marijuana) and background check.
